| How marvellous the `male` mind is! | | I mentioned in a post yesterday that Mr Ruby came in the door with a lovely bunch of red roses for me.They were beautiful and very much appreciated. But shortly after,we were having a cup of tea,and the conversation turned to hammer drills, now im not sure why but alarm bells started ringing in my head!!and the conversation seemed to get `stuck` on hammer drills,no matter how I tried I couldnt change the subject.Well it seemed that Mr Ruby had seen a hammer drill that he had to have!!it was a this seasons must have accessory for me it appeared!!...so in the end,as per,I caved in,and felt that he had talked me into the idea of how useful this drill would be,that the price would never be as low again, that bargain drill,of which there was only one left on the shelf, had to be purchased!!!So the roses were the sprat to catch the mackerel..and he trotted off very happily and came back complete with the box under his arm,and my purse was a good bit lighter!!..but that was a brilliant little ploy, dont you think? | |
| | Women who like tools | | How many of you like tools? I grew up with a very handy mother and am pretty handy myself. My grandmother always thought it was very strange that we'd ask for things like weedeaters, hammer drills, and the like for birthdays and Christmas. I have more 'man tools' than my SO, even![em]lol[/em]If a woman asked you for a power tool or equipment, would you think it was weird? Would you get her what she asked for (if you could afford it)? Or would you get her something more feminine? | |
